Although produced by Lamborghini from 1986 to 1993, The Lamborghini LM002 dates back to the late 11970s. This is the time when the Automaker worked with Mobility Technology International (MTI) to build a US Military vehicle known as The Lamborghini Cheater.
The Cheater was Later Presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1977. Specifications of the 1970 Lamborghini Cheater featured a fiberglass body and a 5.9 Liter V-8 Engine that was mounted on the rear, which later caused various handling issues, making the military award AM General Humvee.

After some time, Lamborghini saw some potential in the Cheater model, and that was when the development of LM001 began, but like the Cheater model, the rear-mounted V-8 still had woeful handling when accelerated at high speed. The LM002 was the next project. To avoid previous mistakes and problems, they conducted some serious notes from its previous models. The chassis was revised so that the Lamborghini Countach V12 could sit up in front. They ran some successful testing on the LM002, were favored to LMA00,2, and earned the Name ‘Rambo Lambo‘ moniker due to its much association with Sylvester Stallone.
Buyers could either choose from a 5.2-liter Countach engine with 450 horsepower or a 7.2-liter offshore powerboat V-12 Engine. The Rambo Lambo hit 60 mph in 7.8 seconds and the top speed of 130 mph. The LM002 was left for a manufacturer that produced sleek sports cars, and all over 300 units were built pickups until the Sultan of Brunei took delivery of the 1986 LM002 from Singapore and opted for it to be converted to a Wagon.
The LM002 wagons were officially named LM002 Carrozzeria Diomante or ‘Diomante Bodywork ‘. Over Three of the Wagons were made, and only one has been suctioned by Lamborghini. it’s claimed that the Sultan of Brunei drove for just 1,100 miles before being shipped to Germany and sold to Former BMW and Volkswagen CEO Bernd Pischetsrieder. Later, it was purchased by a Swedish woman who drove her children to school.
The LM002 has resided in Swedish since, and it features an extensive options list, including air conditioning, electric windows, central locking, stereo system, leather seats, custom dashboard and wood paneling, DVD player, television, and a sunroof.
The conversion involved closing the back, raising the roof, and installing a U-shaped bench in the rear; the LM002 ‘Wagon’ can now transport around five people behind the driver and passenger. The conversion added 1,100 pounds (499 kg) to the vehicle’s weight, resulting in a curb weight of more than 6,600 pounds (2,994 kg). This LM002 was originally finished in Nero but was later changed to Argento Metallizzato.
