The Sur Mesure is a Bugatti division launched back in 2021 with the job of making a variety of their supercars extra special. They are involved in the bespoke customization of Bugatti’s incredible performance cars and allow customers to pay extra to choose any material of their choice or the paintwork idea that they have.

In their latest creation, the Sur Measure adds to their department the W16 Mistral “La Perle Rare,” which was customized in both exterior and interior, turning this W16-powered Bugatti hypercar into a profoundly personal work of art. According to Bugatti, the goal of the “La Perle Rare” is to enrich the Mistral’s uniqueness with a sculptural, flowing aesthetic.

The organic curved lines that are painted onto the bodywork echo Bugatti’s past masterpieces like the Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc, which was created back in 2011 and featured high-quality porcelain elements on its exterior and interior. The curved lines on the “La Perle Rare” were a mix of white and gold and were hand-applied, requiring tapping and masking; also, the process continued on the diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The interior cabin is dominated by white upholstery; the door panels feature flowing lines of a gold and white mixture that creates a liquefied effect. Also, a warm ambient lighting is fitted, further enhancing the looks, also accented by polished machined aluminum trimmings seen in various features.

The seats’ backs are stitched with the iconic “Dancing Elephant” image, which was used on some special Bugatti right before the hood ornament was invented. The image was originally sculpted by Rembrandt, who was Ettore Bugatti’s younger brother, and it was first used as the opulent Type 41 Royale’s hood ornament.

Not only did they embroider the dancing image on the seats, but it’s also seen on the bottom front edge of the doors, and it’s also seen suspended inside a small glass that’s within the gear selector.

To continue giving the Bugatti W16 Mistral a decent look, they have scripted the name “La Perle Rare” on top of the engine covers, also along the underside of the active rear wing, and it’s stitched into the center tunnel.

The powertrain of the Mistral remains unchanged, featuring a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16, and it’s the last Bugatti to feature this engine. Probably something like this couldn’t have less power output; for this, it produced up to 1,578 horsepower, and the top speed is 260 mph.

Bugatti didn’t publish the price of the “La Perle Rare” Mistral, but we are sure it will cost more than $5 million, which was the price that was announced when the Mistral was first revealed.
