In 2019, Jacob & Co. and Bugatti Automobiles joined forces to create a series of extraordinary timepieces inspired by Bugatti’s hypercars. The pinnacle of this collaboration is the Jacob & Co. Bugatti Tourbillon, a watch that seamlessly integrates automotive design, mechanical performance, and luxury craftsmanship.

Design Inspiration

The Bugatti Tourbillon draws inspiration from Bugatti’s new hyper sports car, also named Tourbillon. Ten defining design elements directly mirror the car’s aesthetics, creating an unprecedented synergy between timepiece and automobile:

1. Case Shape : The watch case mirrors Bugatti’s car, with the front grille flanked by side radiator inlets.

2. Sapphire Openings: Two large sapphire openings on the case sides resemble the car’s side windows.
3. Sub-dials: The sub-dials mimic the car’s dashboard and rpm counter.
4. Automaton: The watch’s automaton emulates the car’s V16 engine block, down to its exhaust manifolds.
5. Winding Crown: Even the winding crown replicates the car’s control knobs.

Development Process

The Bugatti Tourbillon’s creation involved close collaboration between Jacob & Co. and Bugatti. Over 18 months, the two teams worked together to integrate car and watch design seamlessly. The result? A masterpiece boasting 557 components, including:
