In a recent Autocar podcast, automotive titan Gordon Murray teased a daring future for Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) that goes well beyond its existing T.50 and T.33 supercars. Murray noted that a completely new vehicle—designed against an all-new architecture—would arrive in 2028. This exciting development comes after the end of production of his ongoing high-performance lineup.

“I don’t want to keep doing the same formula,” Murray said. “At the other end of that scale, the next car we will start the production of after the final version of the T.33 S is an all-new vehicle, a completely different car that will be built from the ground up.”

A New Vision, A New Form

Murray was in little mood to reveal the details, giving only tantalizing clues. While the T.50 and T.33 have mid-engine configurations, this new model will take a “completely different style.” Although speculation includes anything from a front-engine coupe to a sedan to even a shooting brake, Murray has categorically excluded the idea of an SUV.

He did, however, blithely promise this latest creation will be “the best of its type” and a car he’s “always wanted to design.” Like his previous masterpieces, the new model will be produced in just 100 examples, making it highly exclusive and ready to garner the attention of collectors.

The Powertrain Puzzle

At the same time, GMA‘s signature piece of engineering—the Cosworth V-12—will almost certainly still be the beating heart of this new car. But Murray is investigating how to add hybrid tech without sacrificing the company’s fundamental principles. “Electrification will be kept to a minimum—just the absolute necessary parts,” he added, remaining true to GMA’s performance purist ethos.

What’s Next for the T.33 S?

Fans also have the T.33 S to look forward to, which will be revealed next summer, ahead of the new model. Configured more for track performance than the T.33, it will have a hefty increase in downforce alongside revised suspension settings. This variant is poised to stretch performance beyond the limits before production wraps in 2028, making way for Murray’s next game-changing project.

Thanks to his unwavering desire to change the game, Gordon Murray is already well poised to redefine reality with another masterpiece for enthusiasts to look forward to.
