Volvo’s ambition to broaden its electric vehicle (EV) lineup has materialized in the form of the 2025 Volvo EX30. This compact SUV boasts high-tech platforms and comes in both single and dual motor versions. The former, a 268 horsepower rear-wheel drive, has been upgraded to a robust 422 horsepower all-wheel drive, positioning the EX30 as Volvo’s fastest-accelerating vehicle yet.

EV Motor Power and Performance

The single motor extended range model is equipped with a 268 horsepower electric motor mounted on the rear axle, delivering 253 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain enables the EX30 to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in an estimated 5.1 seconds. The dual motor variant ups the ante with 442 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, slashing the 0 to 60 mph time to just 3.4 seconds.

Range and Charging

Every 2025 Volvo EX30 model is fitted with a 64.0 kWh battery pack, offering up to 275 miles of range per charge for the rear-wheel drive version and an estimated 265 miles for the all-wheel drive. Both models support DC fast charging, achieving a charge from 10 to 80 percent in under 30 minutes at a rate of 153 kWh.

Interior

The interior of the Volvo EX30 is a testament to sustainability, utilizing fully recycled materials. The glove box has been innovatively positioned at the center of the dashboard, beneath the infotainment screen, while the cupholder retracts when not in use, maximizing space.

Infotainment

The EX30 features a vertically oriented 12.3-inch display that doubles as both the infotainment and gauge cluster. The system runs on an updated version of Volvo’s Google-based interface, incorporating Google Maps for navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay. A unique stereo system enhances the auditory experience, and Volvo is set to introduce a sound bar across the dashboard’s base.
