The 2025 Suzuki Jimny isn’t all new for the year 2025, but it’s a reworked version of the 2018 fourth-generation Jimny. Earlier this year, Suzuki received a mid-cycle upgrade known as the 5-door Nomade/Sierra on the Japanese market. This article will be based on the Australian Jimny Version, which debuted in Australia on the 5th of December 2023, as the 5-door “Jimny XL”.
By Late 2023 and early 2024, it was rolled out in South Africa(Nov 2023), New Zealand (January 2024), and Malaysia (July 2024). Exterior and Design
The 2025 Suzuki Jimny SUV’s exterior design gets everything upgraded and evolved with the vision of making it perfect. It retains its iconic signature 5-slot front grill with chrome accent and a round headlamp, while its flat, square-shaped bonnet gives a full view of the vehicle on uneven ground. It comes with 15-inch alloy wheels with a dark grey metallic finish, with the flared wheel Arch moulding and side sill splash guards preventing gravel and mud from getting in contact with the body.
Interior and Cargo
The Jimny cabin is so roomier and can provide comfortable seating for four adults. Both the rear and front seats have thick cushioning, covered with cloth upholstery and designed to ensure that the passenger on board explores and travels in comfort. The front dashboard is made of strong and durable hard plastic I ideal for an off-road experience. Some models, like the GLX steering wheels, are wrapped with leather to improve comfort and grip.
Cargo
For the storage, Jimny/Jimmy provides a humble space behind the back seats about 211 L capable of carrying 4 to 5 carry-on suitcases, when the seats are folded a more space opens up of about 377 L capable of carrying 7 to 9 carry-on suitcases. On the side of the back seat cargo area, there is a side mounted lamp which produces light where needed and a convinient socket beside the lamp delivers 12 volts for accessories while you are on campsite.
Infotainment
The 2025 Jimny gets a 9-inch infotainment display on the Suzuki Jimmy GLX model, 7-inch display on the GL model. The system provides needed information to the driver, for example, a live video from the rearview camera.
Available on the infotainment system includes: Bluetooth control for music playback and hands-free calling, subscription-based Wi-Fi, and USB connectivity for touch panel and voice-activated access, giving you a simple way to navigate your smartphone apps, especially the messaging apps. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
Power and Performance
Under the hood of the 2025 Jimny lies a 1.5 petrol engine generating 100 hp at 6000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. It comes with either a 4-speed Automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual, and the driven wheels are 4WD, which lets you handle all kinds of terrain or a 2WD setup that provides a smooth, quiet and fuel-efficient power.
The suspension system features a 3-link design, consisting of rigid front and rear axles and heavy-duty coil springs on all four wheels to provide excellent grip on the road and traction on a wide range of road surfaces.
Just like any other stronger and durable off-roader, for example, the Mercedes G Wagon, it consists of a high-rigidity ladder frame, which is specially designed to meet the demands of off-road driving in rough terrain and also contributes to handling stability and provides long-term durability. Both the chassis and body design provide ample ground clearance to reduce the chance of underbody or bumper damage when traversing through rough terrain.
