Mazda recalls thousands of SUVs that are in Canada and the USA for plenty of software issues. The vehicles affected include two-row CX 70 and three-row XC90. Mazda had reported this issue to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration back on October 31, 2024.

The issues include faulty dash electrical supply units and software, which could cause a loss of drive power. This recall could cover extensively on both the 2025 Mazda CX-90 and 2025 Mazda CX-70. From the documents provided to NHTSA, Mazda hasn’t yet received any reports of accidents or injuries that are connected to the recall.

The most concentrated area is the area surrounding the dash electrical supply unit, and it affects over 80,915 models. When the plugin hybrid is started, the car may malfunction, leading to some components not working, like the defroster, seatbelt warning, battery’s high-voltage cooling system, and 360-degree camera system.

The owners may be notified to take their vehicles to Mazda dealers close to them so that it can be programmed up by a technician to fix the problem. This will be done for free. The other problem that is affecting the CX-90 and CX-70 models is the loss of drive power caused by the faulty software.

It affects almost 30,488 models, and both the powertrain control module (PCM) and the engine control module (EMP) might malfunction and may need to be reprogrammed to fix the issue.

So as to fix the problem, owners are advised to schedule an appointment with local dealers who will install improved software to fix the problem. This will be done for free under warranty, and owners will be notified by 30th December.
