The Transafrica Motors has unveiled a New Faw 6 series truck during a showcase at Nairobi’s Olesereni Showroom on Friday, 25, 2025. The new trucks, Faw JH6 and JK6, are designed to meet the evolving transportation needs in Kenya and the Rest of East Africa.
The new models were praised for their high load capacity, advanced safety features, and power efficiency. The event attracted both business owners and logistics professionals, who had the best opportunity to look closely at the Vehicles and even had a chance to test them.
New Faw 6 Series JK6 Model
The JK6 Model comes with a six-cylinder Deutz engine that provides up to 180 horsepower. For transmission, an eight-speed manual gearbox is used, which has a good gearing ratio for the truck. Other features include air brakes and ABS. The chassis is 21 feet long, which gives enough room to carry more goods.
The Faw JK6 comes in various models including;
- Faw 1081 JK6 4×2 weighing between 10 and 14 tons, offers a 5M chassis and a powerful 180 hp Deutz engine. It’s priced at KES 1.7 Million.
- Faw 1223 JK6 6×4 weighing 16 tons. It’s equipped with a turbocharged Duetz engine and comes with advanced features like ABS brakes and double differential. It’s priced at KES 3 million.
- Faw 1081 weighs 6 tons and is an ideal option for businesses seeking efficiency. The truck is powered by a 130-horsepower Yuchai engine that’s connected to a 6-speed gearbox. It uses about 7.5 Km/L, making it a low-cost operational and Performance truck.
- Faw 1041 is a 3-ton compact truck featuring a Weichai Euro 3 Engine, air brakes, and it’s known as an excellent fuel economy truck using 9 to 10 Km/ L of fuel.
New Faw 6 Series JH6 Model
The Faw JH6 comes in two variants, the 460-horsepower and the 420-horsepower trucks. The 420-horsepower diesel relies on an 11.04-liter six-cylinder inline engine with a water-cooled turbocharger. The engine is connected to a 12-speed synchromesh gearbox that ensures power is transmitted to the rear wheels.
The interior Cabin is so spacious and driver-friendly. Key features of the Faw JH6 include: fuel-saving tech, air suspension driver seats, and ABS and EDE to enhance stability on the road. These features play a critical role in the JH6, providing it with long-distance comfort and travel.
The unviel comes when Faw is marking 20 years in the Kenyan Market. The JH6 and JK6 have been doing well in terms of sales and also collecting positive reviews from their consumers. The company has also highlighted its strong after-sales support, which includes scheduled maintenance, mobile service unit, and availability of genuine parts across the Country.
