  • The Genesis X Scorpio concept packs up to 1,100 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque, setting itself apart from EV-focused concept cars.
  • Featuring a lifted suspension, 40-inch off-road tires, beadlock wheels, and motorsport-grade Brembo brakes, the X Scorpio is designed for high-speed desert performance.
  • Lightweight composite bodywork and Dakar-inspired engineering hint at Genesis’ long-term ambitions, particularly in the Middle East.

Genesis has launched their new concept, the X Scorpio, that’s powered by a V8 engine making up to 1100 horsepower and 850 pounds-feet of torque. That’s a different move compared to other concept cars launched, as most of them only preferred EVs over combustion engines.

Apart from the V8 Engine it rides on a set of 18 inches beadlock and fited with custom 40 inch tires electrifying its performance it also comes with set of motorsport grade brembo breaks. They have fitted a suspension that lifts the X Scorpio concept above the ground, giving it the power to make high jumps above the sand dunes and also taking the shocks from the jumps.

Coming to its bodywork, it features a combination of Kevlar, fiberglass, and carbon fiber so that it can have less weight for ultimate performance. A tubular frame sits close to the panels and paired fenders, providing a wide breakover angle so it can’t get stuck at the high peak or sharp dunes. There is an air intake that’s mounted to the roof, which gives it a visual appearance of a scorpion stinger.

The interior of the X Scorpio concept is dressed in finery. The dashboard that’s covered in leather features a large navigation screen mounted in front of the passenger, going to the steering wheel, and has a center-mounted small screen as well as a handful of controls around it.

The automaker is trying to build its presence in the Middle East; it could be looking forward to participating in the Dakar Rally in the future. It’s unlikely that the concept will be put into production like their previous concept. So it may be possible for the company to put it into production; this will be supported by Genesis Chief Creative Officer Donckerwolke’s statement that “each concept is a signal of what’s possible, a glimpse into the DNA of Genesis’ future.”
