The New Prelude boasts dimensions that strike a balance between agility and comfort. Honda’s Chief Engineer, Tomoyuki Yamagami, acknowledges that while the Prelude embodies a sleek design, it may not be the absolute “sportiest, zippiest car.” Nonetheless, its aesthetics promise a compelling presence on the road.
Power and Performance
Under the hood, the Prelude Concept features a hybrid powertrain. According to the latest reports, it will utilize a 2.0-liter four-cylinder e:HEV engine paired with two electric motors. This combination is estimated to deliver around 204 horsepower. Additionally, the Prelude will feature all-wheel drive, although a manual transmission won’t be part of the package.
Pricing
Prospective buyers can expect the 2026 Honda Prelude to start around $31,000, with higher trims reaching up to $38,000. The sport trim is estimated at $31,000, while the sport touring variant is priced at $38,000.
Sales Outlook
While Honda has yet to confirm U.S. sales, they are actively gauging customer interest. In the UK, the Honda Prelude will make its European debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, followed by availability for purchase early next year.
