Performance and Powertrain

At the heart of the 2016 Mustang GT lies the impressive 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine. It churns out 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, a significant improvement over the previous generation GT’s 420 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque.

Paired with a standard six-speed manual gearbox, the GT delivers exhilarating performance on both road and track. The GT’s top speed reaches up to 113 mph, and its rear tires provide exceptional grip, pulling 0.9 g during aggressive maneuvers. The braking distance from 70 mph to zero is a mere 10 feet shorter than 166 feet, showcasing its impressive stopping power.

Refined Handling and Interior

Ford refined the Mustang’s handling by introducing a multilink rear end and revising the front strut suspension. These enhancements polished the car’s road manners, resulting in unexpected agility. The sleek proportions and classier cabin with improved ergonomics further contribute to the GT’s appeal.
