The Nuvolari may have just been revealed, but there are rumors spreading that suggest this 987-horsepower supercar may be getting a spyder variant in the days to come. In a conversation with Top Gear, Gernot Döllner, the CEO of Audi, had suggested that there could be a convertible version, which could be on the way.
The Audi Nuvolari was limited to about 499 units, which makes the supercar a rare gem to own. Top Gear questioned Döllner on if there will be another 499 Nuvolari Spyders that would go along with the coupe, but the Audi CEO responded negatively with a chuckle, “Not 499.”
We are quite sure that the production of the folding-roof Nuvolari may be below the 499 units of the Nuvolari, and we didn’t get quite information from the executive, but if rumors turn out to be true, there will be only tens or below hundreds of the Spyder that will run out of the production line.
For pricing, the Spyder may be priced more premium than the coupe, which is at $686,613 as of the current exchange. For its performance should be much more identical to the Nuvolari performance package, which features a twin-turbocharged 4.0 liter V-8 that’s connected to tri-axial flux motors, creating a combined 987 horsepower. Top speed exceeds 217 mph.
