Toyota is known for its reliability, but things aren’t going quite as well these days. The automaker announced two new recalls last Wednesday, covering approximately 400,000 Toyota trucks and SUVs.

The recall affected over 394,000 Toyota Tundra and Sequoia models that were built between 2022 and 2025. The issue is rooted within the 14-inch infotainment system, where a software bug causes the screen to be half green or fully green and, at some point, completely black.

The problem can cause the backup camera not to display properly, which may increase the chances of a collision ending up causing injuries. Dealers may update the display software at no cost.

Another recall also covers around 6000 Tacoma 4WD trucks made between 2025. The front driveshaft joints in this vehicle may have been manufactured without a proper material, resulting in the deformation or breaking of it; this will cause the driver not to make a turn.

On a 4WD, the failure could cause the truck to roll away if the electronic parking brake is off.

Toyota is expected to notify affected owners by late November, and they are urged to take their cars to the nearest dealership for inspection of the serial number on the driveshaft assemblies and replace them if necessary free of charge.
