Toyota has just revealed their smallest off-road family SUV, the Land Cruiser FJ. It rides on IMV platform same used in current Hilux and has other elements combining to make it tougher as the 70 series.
It’s eleven inches shorter, the Wheelbase is about 101 inches longer, the length is 180.1 and wideness is 77.2 inches. With the height, it’s about six feet tall but other specifications about it’s ground clearance, Toyota has not listed it, but we are sure to update once available.
Under the hood of the new baby Land Cruiser it uses a 2.7 liters inline four that generates 161 horsepower and 181 pound feet of torque. For the transmission it’s coupled with a six speed automatic and a part of four wheel drive is available.
Stepping inside, the FJ mirrors the larger Land Cruiser 250 series, and the cabin is filled with 12.5 inch infotainment touch screen with physical buttons and switches act as main controllers.
Toyota Says that the floor has additional bracing to make it tougher and has a removable front and rear bumper covers which helps in quicker repairs. Also they continued saying that there won’t be plans for it to go on sale on either Europe or America but it will be available globally on some parts.
The New FJ will go on sale next year in Japan and Middle East and will be shown first in public at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. While this being the latest variant in the Land Cruiser Toyota has hinted on bringing other variants to the view.
